MMP: Morning Movement Practice

If there’s one way to start your day that puts you headed in the right direction, it’s to move. No matter what way you choose, morning movement wakes up the body, gets things going and sets the trajectory for the day. Particularly if you’re going to have a day of sitting or a stressful day, a morning movement session can make your day better. I love morning walks but if I only have a few minutes, which is typical for me before I’m in the car for 30 minutes, then I get as many things moving as possible.

Here’s what I like to do…

Wiggle
Shake
Rock
Roll
Swing
Wave
Circles
Reach
Squat
Lunge
Swim
Sway
Twist
Bounce

Sometimes I add more, sometimes less, but the concept is the same: get some morning movement in and you will be glad you started you day with a little wiggle, shake, rock and roll!
